Sculpture Information
Expressions of Interest will be submitted to Council and the successful artists will be notified following the December 2021 Council meeting.
Please refer to Council’s Sculpture Management Policy for information on requirements for ongoing maintenance of the sculptures.
Winning sculptures have been placed on the Elliston Clifftop Drive, however, can be located in any township in the Elliston District. Please contact Council office to discuss potential location of your sculpture.
Sculpture Information
Council will contribute toward design, construction and installation costs to the winning artists.
Total prize money available is $10,000. Entry is free and the sponsorship competition is open to all.
Sculptors of all mediums are invited to enter this free competition with sponsorship awarded to the winning designs, for the construction and installation of their sculpture.
The location of the sculptures will be confirmed in discussions with Council staff and may be located in any of the District townships.
The winning sculptures must be made of durable materials able to withstand the elements.
The design of the sculptures does not have to be site specific however must not pose a safety or hazard risk to staff or members of the viewing public.
The sculpture must be installed by 30 June 2022.
Elected Members will select the winning entries at the Council meeting on 21 December 2021.
Conditions of Entry
Entries must be original work and must not infringe copyright.
A comprehensive outline of intended work in written and drawing form must accompany this application.
The winners are responsible for all costs involved in the making, transporting and setting up of the work, including insurance.
Copyright rests with the successful entrants, however Council is to be licenced to reproduce images of the work and associated text without charge.
Council shall be authorised to reproduce images of the works for documentation and promotional purposes.
Materials used must be made of durable materials able to withstand the elements.
