Australian Salmon Fishing Championships—Elliston

$10.00The Australian Salmon Fishing Championship is held annually on the West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula during the months of June, July and August. We are in the 23rd year of successful competition with many fishermen returning each year in the hope of catching the big one!
Prizes
Heaviest salmon each month gets $1000, second heaviest gets $300 each month and there is a mystery weight each fortnight. The closest weight to the Mystery weight will receive $200 each fortnight!
There is also a photo competition, you can send a maximum of 3 photos into the Elliston Community and Visitor Information Centre for your chance to win the monthly prize of $50. Your photos may also be displayed on our website/ Facebook and in future marketing.
There will be a winter raffle during the Salmon Competition, tickets are $2 each and can be purchased from the Information Centre and other participating businesses.
The lucky ticket prize will be announced at the end of the event

The rules of the competition are –
-Competition commences 1st June and ends on the 31st of August.
-Salmon must be caught with a hook and line form the shore between Mount Camel Beach and Sheringa Beach, Eyre Peninsula.
-Entrants must purchase a ticket ($10) Before catching their salmon to be weighed.
-Salmon must be gutted and washed (not gilled or scaled) and be presented on the day of capture to the Elliston Apartments, Elliston to be weighed.
-maximum of three salmon per entrant per day can be weighed in.
